Join one of America’s leading authorities on wine, Food & Wine magazine’s Executive Wine Editor Ray Isle, and the Sonoma County Winegrowers on an exploration of sustainable winegrowing and winemaking in Sonoma County. Learn from a panel of grape growers and winemakers on how they collaborate in the vineyards and cellars to produce spectacular wines that are recognized around the globe. From pruning techniques in winter that set the stage for that season’s crop, to sustainable farming practices, such as canopy management and water conservation, to deciding on when to pick the fruit – this informative tasting will showcase the journey from grape to glass. This seminar will also give wine enthusiasts a rare opportunity to sample a selection of grape varieties – Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon – all picked earlier that morning alongside vineyard designate wines sourced from that same site. This sensory exploration and comparison of color, aromas, and flavors from freshly harvested sustainable grapes and its resulting wine is a perfect way to connect what’s in your glass with the distinctive, diverse terroir of Sonoma County.
12:00pm | 1:00pm | 2:00pm

In this unique sensory tasting you will learn how the professionals pair wine with the flavors of a meal. Winemaster Randy Ullom will lead you through a tasting of the winery’s hand-crafted, limited release wines paired with delectable original recipes developed and presented by Kendall-Jackson’s Executive Chef Justin Wangler.  In celebration of the seasonal bounty of the 2½-acre Kendall-Jackson culinary garden each fresh ingredient is harvested and prepared to work in tandem with the flavors of the wines. These pairings promise to reveal the nuances of flavor in both the wine and the food. It’s a rare opportunity to discover Kendall-Jackson’s more obscure wines paired with the creations of a masterful chef who is intimately acquainted with both the winery and its garden.
